Body Shop Technician (Brampton Region)

Job Number: 105-PA-7322

Locations: Brampton, ON

Wages: $75,000 - $140,000 per year

Job Description 

  • Examine all vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Prepare a complete report on the back of the repair order.
  • Promptly notify the Body Shop Advisor when additional work is needed, outlined work is not required, and/or repairs cannot be completed within time commitment to client.
  • Estimate flat rate times for each recommendation. Use supplied flat-rate manuals and the Employer policies as a guide.
  • Obtain parts from the Parts Department as required.
  • Address all customer concerns using the Three C’s method – Complaint, Cause, Correction.
  • Remove damaged body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, grilles, and trim.
  • Realign car frames and chassis to repair structural damage.
  • Hammer out or patch dents, dimples, and other minor body damage.
  • Order all parts when authorization is received, unless specifically told otherwise. Indicate on the RO that you have done so.
  • Execute road-tests on vehicles after service any time a wheel is removed, or any time a repair that might affect drivability is performed (i.e. tune-up, valve adjustment, brake work, suspension work, rattle/noise repair, etc.).
  • Supervise the work of all apprentice technicians or students; report immediately any deficiencies to the Body Shop Manager.
  • Maintain a high degree of concentration to prevent “comebacks”.
  • Ensure that customer cars are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times. This includes cleaning of the bay and bench at the end of each shift and dispose of garbage, recycling, etc. as required.
  • Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Other duties as required by management.


Employment requirements 

  • Grade 12 diploma or GED
  • Autobody Technician, fully licensed (310B).
  • 3-4 years experience with auto body repairs. 
  • Possess a valid Ontario driver's license and clean drivers abstract. Some countries allow for drivers licenses to be exchanged in Ontario.
  • Must be team oriented, hardworking with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
